1. Services I provide

I provide Kinesiology, Emotions and Metaphysical Kinesiology (EMK), Spinal Energetics and Reiki Energy Healing sessions.

A session typically involves a conversation about what has brought you in, setting an intention together, muscle testing, and time on a table, fully clothed. I explain each step as we go and you can ask questions or stop at any point. Depending on the session, I may use oils, cards, tuning tools or light touch.

These are complementary practices. They are not medical care, and they are not a diagnosis, treatment or cure for any illness, disease or condition.

I do not diagnose. I do not prescribe. I do not treat medical conditions. I do not provide psychological therapy, counselling or crisis support. Nothing I say in a session is medical, psychological, legal or financial advice.

Kinesiology, EMK, Spinal Energetics and Reiki are not registered health professions in Australia. There is no AHPRA registration, no government register and no protected title for them. My qualifications and memberships are issued by the modalities themselves and by industry associations, not by a regulator. Section 13 sets out what does regulate me and how to complain.

2. What a session is not a substitute for

Sessions work alongside medical care, not instead of it.

If you have a health concern, please see a doctor or another registered health practitioner. If you are already under someone’s care, please stay under it. Nothing I say is a reason to stop, delay, change or reduce any treatment, medication or advice you have been given by a registered health practitioner, and I will never suggest otherwise.

If you are in crisis or need urgent help, contact your doctor, call Lifeline on 13 11 14, or call 000.

3. Outcomes

I cannot tell you what a session will do for you, and I do not make promises about results.

People describe their sessions differently and what one person experiences is not a prediction of what you will. Anything you read on my website, including reviews and client comments, is an individual account of that person’s own experience. It is not evidence that a session will produce a particular result, and it is not a representation by me that it will.

4. Your rights under Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law, and nothing in these terms is intended to.

My services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, including a guarantee that they will be supplied with due care and skill. If I fail to meet a consumer guarantee, you are entitled to a remedy under that law.

Where the law allows me to limit my liability, my liability for any failure to meet a consumer guarantee is limited to supplying the service again, or paying the cost of having it supplied again, whichever I choose.

Kinesiology and Spinal Energetics sessions usually involve physical contact. That is most often gentle pressure on an arm or a leg for muscle testing, and light contact on the back, shoulders, head or feet. Reiki may involve light touch or hands held above the body without contact.

Taking part in a session is voluntary. You can decline any technique, ask questions, take a break or end the session at any time.

Before we start, I will tell you what I plan to do and ask if you are comfortable with it. You can say no to any part of a session, at any point, without giving a reason, and I will adjust or stop. Saying stop is always enough.

Booking a session is not consent to physical contact. Consent happens in the room, it is yours to give, and you can withdraw it at any time.

If you would prefer no physical contact at all, tell me when you book and I will work that way, or we can do the session online.

6. What I need from you

Please tell me before your session about anything that affects how I should work with you. That includes injuries, recent surgery, pregnancy, a medical condition you are managing, medication you are taking, or anything you find difficult to be touched near or talked about.

You do not have to explain more than you want to. I only need enough to work safely and to know what to leave alone.

Please arrive able to take part. If you are acutely unwell, contagious, or affected by alcohol or drugs, I may need to end or reschedule the session, and section 9 applies.

7. Online sessions

I offer every modality online, and clients who have had both in person and online tell me they get great benefit from online sessions.

Online sessions are delivered by video call via Google Meet. You will need a reasonable internet connection, a private space where you will not be interrupted, and room to lie down or sit comfortably.

Online sessions do not include physical contact. If the connection fails and we cannot complete the session, we will continue the session when possible, or reschedule to another time, whichever you prefer.

8. Fees and payment

Current prices are on my website and I will confirm the price with you when you book.

Payment is due at or before the session unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.

If on the off chance I need to cancel a session you have already paid for and cannot offer you a suitable alternative time, I will refund you in full.

9. Cancelling or rescheduling

If you need to cancel or move your session, please give me at least 24 hours’ notice. There is no charge and no difficulty at all when you do.

With less than 24 hours’ notice, or if you do not arrive, I charge 50% of the scheduled session fee. That time is held for you and I usually cannot fill it.

I will waive that charge where something genuinely unavoidable has happened, including sudden illness. You do not need to prove anything to me. Just tell me.

If I need to cancel or move a session, I will give you as much notice as I can and offer you the next available time, or a full refund of anything you have paid.

10. The space I work in

The Patch. My healing space is at my home. It is not wheelchair accessible. There are steps at the entrance, plus path, parking and bathroom detail. If access is a concern, please contact me before booking and we can either work out whether it will suit you or arrange an online session.

Two cats live here. They will not be in the room during your session, but they live in the house, so there will be cat hair and they may be around before or afterwards. If you have an allergy or would rather not be near animals, an online session or a remote session may suit you better.

I use scent. Sessions may involve essential oils and, palo santo, sage or incense. Tell me if you would rather I did not, and I will not.

11. Anything I give you or recommend

If I suggest a flower essence, an oil or anything similar during a session, that is a suggestion, not a prescription, and it is not a treatment for any condition. I am not qualified to advise on how anything interacts with medication you are taking. Please check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking anything new.

12. Your privacy and your health information

I take notes about our sessions and I hold personal and health information about you. Health information is sensitive information, and as a health service provider I am bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and, in Victoria, by the Health Records Act 2001 and its Health Privacy Principles. Those apply to me regardless of the size of my practice.

What I collect. Your contact details, what you tell me about your health and circumstances, and my notes from our sessions.

What I use it for. Providing your sessions, keeping continuity between them, and contacting you about your bookings. I do not sell your information and I do not add you to a mailing list unless you ask me to.

When I would disclose it. I keep what you tell me confidential. The limited exceptions are where you ask or agree to me sharing it, where the law requires or authorises me to disclose it, or where disclosure is necessary to lessen or prevent a serious threat to someone’s life, health or safety.

How long I keep it. I keep health records for at least seven years from your last session, as the Health Records Act requires. For a client who was under 18, records are kept until they turn 25.

Your access to it. You can ask me for a copy of the health information I hold about you, and you can ask me to correct it if it is wrong. Ask me through my contact page or on 0414 431 892, and I will respond within 30 days. If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information, section 13 explains where to complain.

Booking and payment. My booking system and payment processor hold your details under their own privacy terms. Acuity Scheduling, Stripe and/or Square Pay.

13. Code of conduct and complaints

I am a general health service provider. As section 1 says, Kinesiology, Reiki and Spinal Energetics are not registered health professions in Australia, so they are not regulated by AHPRA and there is no government register or protected title for them.

Providers like me are regulated in Victoria under the Health Complaints Act 2016 and its General Code of Conduct for general health services, which has been law since 1 February 2017. The Code sets standards on what I may claim, working within my scope of practice, keeping your information private, holding insurance, and never discouraging you from seeking or continuing care from a registered health practitioner.

You can read the General Code of Conduct here: hcc.vic.gov.au/providers/general-health-service-providers-code-conduct

If you are unhappy with my service. Please contact me first. I take complaints seriously and I will endeavour to resolve yours quickly and fairly.

If you are still not satisfied, you can contact the Health Complaints Commissioner. The HCC responds to complaints about health services and about the handling of health information in Victoria. Their service is free, confidential and impartial, and you do not need to complain to me first.

Insurance. I hold current professional indemnity and public liability insurance through my full membership of the International Institute for Complementary Therapists.

14. Under 18s

I see clients under 18 only with the consent of a parent or guardian, and a parent or guardian must remain present for the whole session. I have a current Working With Children check.

15. Changes to these terms

I may update these terms. The version on this page at the time you book is the version that applies to your session, and the date at the top tells you when it last changed.

16. Agreement, and the law that applies

By booking a session, you confirm you have read and understood these terms. Consent to physical contact is separate and is dealt with in section 5.

These terms are governed by the law of Victoria, Australia.
